Livebrary

Livebrary is a one-stop, digital branch for Suffolk County public library cardholders to access online resources and is a cooperative project of the public libraries of Suffolk County.

Great Give Back

The Great Give Back is a day of opportunities for the patrons of the Public Libraries of New York State to participate in meaningful, service-oriented experiences.

Suffolk Summer Tour

Funded by the Love Your Library fund from New York State, the Suffolk Summer Library Tour has patrons picking up booklets from their local libraries and collecting stamps in order to be entered into raffles. Raffle tickets will be given to patrons once they have received 5, 15, and 25 stamps from different participating member libraries. Each library has its own distinct stamp for patrons to collect.

Author's Unlimited

Authors Unlimited is a festival that celebrates reading by connecting teens and authors. It is a free full-day event open to everyone, but teens get preferred seating! Here you can meet dynamic authors of young adult literature and attend break out author sessions. Autograph sessions are held at the end of the day, with books available for purchase.

Battle of the Books

The Battle of the Books is an annual interlibrary, competitive event built around a trivia contest, focusing on six novels for young adults. The teams of teen readers, representing their local library districts, begin training in June and compete in the County Battle, which is held in mid-August.

Long Island Reads

Long Island Reads began in 2002 and is an Island-wide reading initiative intended to bring together readers from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties to discuss a book and participate in library-sponsored activities and events associated with it.
