Learn how your Friends of the Library group—or any group of library supporters—can effectively organize Get Out The Vote (GOTV) and letter-writing campaigns to advocate for your library’s needs and future. This session will cover what messages you can and cannot share under legal and ethical guidelines, how to stay nonpartisan while still being persuasive, and how to collaborate with partners such as library staff, advocacy organizations, and community leaders to amplify your message. You'll gain tools to craft clear, impactful messaging and understand why grassroots advocacy is crucial to protecting and promoting public libraries.
All Suffolk library friends groups are welcome to a light lunch and an opportunity to network with other library friends groups.
