**This is the second session in a two-part program series. If this one is full, there is an additional session in the morning**
Presented by Jaci Clement, Fair Media Council - Effective leadership requires clear, confident communication—whether addressing the media, engaging with local officials, or navigating a challenging situation. This program equips library leaders with the strategies and skills needed to represent their organizations with authority and poise.
The opening session provides a structured overview of communication best practices, including proactive media engagement, crisis messaging, and techniques for building productive relationships with elected officials.
The second component features interactive workshops of small groups where directors respond to simulated media and government engagement scenarios. By developing and presenting tailored communication strategies, participants will build greater confidence, adaptability, and skill in representing their libraries before diverse audiences.
