The Library Nourish Training on Accessible Library Services: Things to Consider During and Beyond the Pademic has been moved to May 13, 2021.

As many of you know, being able to provide library services to people with print disabilities, over the past year, has been very challenging. One of the main library programs that is typically available to patrons is the National Library Service Talking Book Program. This program, like many traditional library programs, was significantly impacted as a result of library closures and limited services. In an effort to ensure access to this unique library service, we will update you on the many ways public libraries can be involved in serving eligible Talking Book patrons in their community.

Our guest speaker, Jill Rothstein, Chief Librarian at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library, a branch of the New York Public Library, will provide information on Talking Book services to patrons on Long Island. Jill and Valerie Lewis will discuss strategies for reaching and serving patrons who cannot use your traditional library materials.
