Professional Development Hours 2

Join us for a Smart911 Training, how to use the Suffolk County Emergency Evacuation database, and to learn about the many emergency service resources available to Suffolk County residents. Allison Aievoli, Training Officer for  Suffolk County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) is conducting the training. Smart911 is a tool in which residents can provide 9-1-1 call takers and first responders with critical information, that you want them to know in advance of an emergency. Examples of information that you can provide include your vehicle, mobility limitations, needed assistance in the event of an evacuation and/or the number of occupants in your household. This information can also be shared with the Suffolk County Office of Emergency Management in the event that you need emergency resources during a storm. This training will include information on how to sign up for a Smart911 profile and how to sign others up if they are not technologically savvy. We will also highlight other resources from Suffolk County FRES, such as our RAVE Alert and RAVE Guardian system.
