The presentation will touch upon the four different "flavors" of intellectual property protection: copyright, patent, trade secret and trademark. There will be an emphasis on patents and trademarks, an introduction to the United States Patent and Trademark Office's search databases and an overview of the USPTO's Patent and Trademark Resource Center program at The Smithtown Library.
Presenter, Will Salas is a veteran and has worked at The Smithtown Library since 2002. Since opening The Smithtown Library's PTRC program in 2013, Will has helped over 1,000 inventors and entrepreneurs. Will does not watch Shark Tank regularly but aspires to be a contestant someday.
